I took piano lessons as a child, my left hand never seemed to communicate with the right hand! I recently brought home a cheap keyboard from my pawnshop to try again. Just hope no one hears me trying to sing. I sound like Waylon Jennings on a bad night!

Proud of you, Becky! Just have fun with it and give yourself some grace. No matter what happens it’s good for your upstairs circuitry. And, hey, I try hard to sound like Waylon on a bad night.

A good friend of mine took classes to learn sign language. Not because he had an immediate use for it but just to learn something new. Pretty cool idea. Keep learning.

Love it! Yup, just never stop learning new things. Thanks Ken!

I messed around with the claw hammer banjo as a kid, then took it up for real at age 50. Best decision. Thanks for writing this piece!

Awesome! Would love to see you play and jam some time Mary!

Now that would be fun. You’re right. One of the best parts of playing music is the social scene.

I have been trying to learn Spanish because I figured it would be good for neuroplasticity. I also want to learn the uekelele. You’ve just about convinced me.

You’ll have a blast learning the ukulele! I sure hope you give it a try. Perhaps find a song in Spanish and combine the two. Your brain will no doubt appreciate the fun challenge. I recommend carving out just 15-30 mins a day and just start with the simpler chords as you build some muscle memory and resilience in your fingertips. You’re gonna crush this Joan!
